“We are not inclined to write reviews, but our stay at the Opito Point Lodge was so incredibly magical that we are eager to share our experience.

Our hostess, Jaye, was a delight to meet. She ensured that we were warmly greeted, lavishly welcomed, and as comfortable and at ease as could be possible. She has set the lodging exquisitely. Never in our lives have we enjoyed such hospitality, comfort and luxury as was provided to us while at Opito Point Lodge.

The Lodge is beautifully designed and constructed with no detail unaddressed, a magnificent beach house with every extravagance included. It provides its guests with a magnificent view of and direct access to a long strand of sandy beach anchored by beautiful rugged rock formations. There is no amenity lacking; guests are pampered in every way.

Of the many highlights that we enjoyed during our month-long travels throughout New Zealand, our wonderful stay at the Opito Point Lodge will remain our most indelible.

“We stayed at Opito Bay Lodge for three nights at the end of our holiday exploring New Zealand from the South to the North Island, it is an absolutely beautiful Lodge with superb ocean views. 

We had use of a spacious kitchen dining area, sitting area and library all with amazing décor. The full height glass walls create a seamless connection to the dunes and beach via a wooden boardwalk. We couldn't have asked for more. 

Jaye manages the lodge and she welcomed us on arrival with a platter of food and a bottle of bubbles. She has an attention to detail and a passion that ensured we had a fabulous holiday.

As part of our time there we enjoyed using the hydrotherapy spa and riding the Lodge’s electric bikes on the beach. The sandy bay stretches for about a mile and even on a New Zealand bank holiday there were just a handful of families enjoying the beach and swimming and surfing in the sea.

Opito Point Lodge was a wonderful way to complete our holiday in style. In summary “a little slice of paradise”.

“We had a wonderful 4 night's stay at the Opito Point Lodge in February 2026. The house is very luxurious and fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home on vacation - from the amazing kitchen with the adjacent grand but also comfy living / dining area with a small reading place/ Library , the cinema, the laundry room and the great outside dining area / patio to the sauna, the hot spa in the garden with the stunning view on the long beach (which we had almost all to ourselves) and the pacific Ocean. 

 We were also provided with various Equipment for the beach like chairs, umbrellas and cushions. We had the master bedroom on the first floor with an en-suite bathroom and a large balcony facing towards the ocean - a beautiful place for the first morning coffee.

A special thanks goes to Jaye, who with the help of Laila could not have been more welcoming, responsive at all times and supportive with many recommendations on what to do around the area!”

The setting is simply stunning, the view of the beach is not only beautiful but feels incredibly private and serene. We spent time in the spa under the stars, and it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing experiences we’ve had in a long time.
